I had a very special lady in my life that taught me how to quilt by hand. I took all her classes that she offered and sometimes I took them more than once. Her name was Rose she would tell us about her life and the stories behind her beautiful quilts that she had displayed in her store. She showed us pics of her wedding grown that she made for herself out of her husband WWII parachute. I might add it was a very beautiful dress. It is amazing to hear how life was back in the older days. I found out last year that she passed away from my husband. Rose was in her mid 90's and she made a living out what she loved. It's amazing how someone can touch your life when you least expect it to. My heart was broken when I found out. Today a lot of quilter don't quilt by hand anymore. Its sewing machine or long arm machines. I haven't touch quilting since Rose passed away and it would be a shame to lose what Rose has taught me in her classes.
